Nathaniel B. Berg M.D. DABRDr. Nathaniel Berg is the Medical Director of Guam Radiology Consultants. He was born in Reykjavik, Iceland and comes from a family with a strong interest in public health.   Dr. Berg earned his M.D. from the esteemed Tufts University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, after graduating with honors from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has extensive experience in interventional radiology with a special interest in pain management and non-vascular interventions, as well as Women’s imaging.

He began his post-graduate medical training at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California, completing a surgery qualified transitional internship. He went on to complete his Radiology Residency training at the renowned Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he served as Chief Resident in radiology.  He has vigorously pursued continuing his medical education, which included additional training in Interventional Radiology in Malmö, Sweden. He served in the United States Army Medical Corps for 13 years, leaving for private practice on Guam after achieving the rank of Major.  He served for four years at the United States Naval Hospital Guam where he was elected to the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff.

Dr. Berg is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and has published articles on MRI and the role of the radiologist in preparing for disasters. He has been invited to and has presented lectures at national and international conferences.

While still in training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he was awarded a commendation medal for improving communications between the radiology department and other sections of the Medical Center. This same initiative has shaped the vision for Guam Radiology Consultants, where excellent communication with our referring providers is emphasized as being critical to best serving GRC's patients.

Dr. Berg has been very active as a member of the Medical Community in Guam.  He served as the President of the Guam Medical Society and was host for a local medically-oriented radio program.  He is most proud of the work that GRC has done to provide care to Guam's indigent population.
